The event on transferring the books to the “Yorug’lik” charity center for children with identified disabilities in Tashkent was held under the project “#BookChallenge”, implemented on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Today, on March 28, under the “Book Challenge” project, implemented on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Republican Design Institute UzEngineering under the Cabinet of Ministers handed over children’s educational books to the “Yorug’lik” charity center in Tashkent for children with identified disabilities. This literary fund was formed with full participation of the Institute staff under the leadership of Timur Urazaev, the acting director of the Institute.

The book collection from the Institute’s staff includes the story “Early Cranes” by Chingiz Aitmatov, the “Devil’s Wall” by folk writer Tokhir Malik, “The Tale of Bibi-Khanym” by poet Khurshid Davron; it also contains brief information about the countries of the world, etc.

On March 19, a video-conference meeting was chaired by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss promoting the book-reading among the younger generation.

«We, all the leadership ... starting with the Prime minister, the district heads, all people’s deputies – let us show some initiative and hand over 10–20 books to the schools where we studied, in the districts. No need to wait for someone to do it. Not everyone reads books, but the young people need them», said the head of state.
