On May 17–18, 2023, seminars were held for specialists from the UzEngineering RDI, members of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Uzbekistan, and invited specialists from engineering organizations. The training was conducted by Azim Houshyar, an expert from the USA.

The seminars reviewed the latest developments in the field of layout and logistics of facilities, discussed topics such as:

• Strategic planning of facilities.
• Development of products, process and schedules.
• Interrelation of industrial activity and requirements for premises.
• Traditional method for facility layout.
• Efficient use of space.
• Ensuring efficient cargo handling.
• Minimize storage costs while still providing the required level of service.
• Ensuring maximum flexibility.

The expert shared his experience in teaching engineering disciplines at Western Michigan University, as well as his experience in advising large industrial corporations, such as Argonne National Laboratory, FORD, Whirpool, etc.
