Within the framework of the agreement between «UzEngineering» RDI and SES Foundation (Germany), the three-week work Program for exchange of experience was implemented in Tashkent on July 10 – 29, 2019, with invitation of international consultant in the person of SES expert, active member of International Project Management Association (IPMA), Professor Michael Mente.
SES (Senior Expert Service) is the Foundation of German Industry for International Cooperation being the leading German organization employing retired specialists and executives, rendering consulting services in various sectors of economy. The founders of SES are major organizations of Germany’s economy. The major assistance of SES experts consists in developing competence of employees of organizations and companies, as well as in solving technical and organizational issues.
It should be noted, that in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, No.PP-3557, «About Measures for Further Enhancement of Project Works and System of Training of Design Engineers in Key Branches of Economy» dated February 22, 2018, «UzEngineering» RDI was determined as the body to liaise between the specialized higher educational institutions, enterprises of the key branches of economy and design organizations in training highly-qualified design engineers. For the purpose of improving the quality of project works, enhancement of localization thereof and training the required highly-qualified staff, one of the main courses of further development of project works in key branches of economy is active engagement of leading specialists and design engineers from foreign educational institutions and engineering companies in the training process.
The Program for exchange of experience, which was implemented for the above purposes, comprised conducting workshops at the technical higher educational institutions directly involved in staff training for the design engineering sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Tashkent State Technical University, Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction, Tashkent Chemical-Technological Institute, Turin Polytechnic University, Samarkand State Architectural and Civil Engineering Institute) and one-week project management training for the specialists from the leading design organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The project management training, explaining the backbone, principles and methods of project management to the attendees, as well as Germany’s experience in this sphere, was carried out in cooperation with the Republican Graduate School of Business and Management named after Abu Raikhan Beruni and Uzbek Project Management Association. After completion of the training all attendees were granted certificates with all the honors and celebrations.
Besides that, international consultant was informed about «UzEngineering» RDI activities with regard to search for additional resources for further diversification of the processes of improving and developing the delivered engineering services, with due consideration of introduction of advanced methods of project works management based on the best international practices. During familiarization with «UzEngineering» RDI activities, a number of meetings with the management and leading specialists was arranged.
Upon completion of the Program for exchange of experience, an official meeting was held at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, where «UzEngineering» RDI representatives and the international consultant had a chance to discuss future development of partner relations in the field of engineering and project works, including joint programs for developing the competence of specialists.
